Dr. Nancy Morris received her Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from Oregon Institute of Technology in 1985 where she graduated Magna Cum laude. The American Society of Clinical Pathologists certified her as a Medical Technologist (MT). She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree in 1990 from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Morris spent the next year at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital interning in small animal medicine and surgery. The next 7 years were spent in private practice.

In 1997, Dr. Morris returned to Angell and completed her residency in cardiology and she is a board certified Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) in Cardiology.

She has also been active in cardiovascular research. In 2004 she completed a multi-center FDA/CVM clinical trial for a new Phosphododiesterase III inhibitor drug (Pimobendan) to treat congestive heart failure in dogs. She has served as a consultant to biotech, medical device manufactures and pharmaceutical development companies. Her most recent clinical research, prospective screening of 200 Doberman Pinschers to determine the clinical utility of the NT-pro BNP test as a screening tool to detect occult dilated cardiomyopathy, was presented at the 2009 conference of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in Montreal, Canada.

Lauren grew-up at dog shows. She bred and showed Chihuahuas, and also worked for a professional handler for 5 years, showing working and herding breeds. During high school, she worked in the kennel at a veterinary clinic. After finishing her Bachelors degree, she worked as veterinary technician for 3.5 year before returning to school to complete her M.S in Counseling. Lauren met Dr. Morris while organizing a breeding clearance clinic and started working part-time as a technician in the fall of 2010. While she no longer shows and breeds dogs, she is still active in the dog show community and a member of multiple dog clubs. She is licensed to judge Chihuahuas, Min Pins and Junior Showmanship and occassionally assists the local 4-H dog club teaching showmanship. Prior to coming on board full-time at MVCS, she worked for the Center for Public Policy and Social Research at Central Connecticut State University as a Research Specialist. She lives in Connecticut with her husband, son, two cats (Brutus and Nefertiti) and German Shepherd (Magnolia).

Crystal Bell-Everett CVT, LATG

Crystal Bell-Everett CVT, LATG
Crystal joined us in February of 2012 bringing with her 18 years of experience. She began her career in wellness, but had an affinity for emergency medicine and specialty surgery. She worked as a technician in emergency and specialty medicine for 10 years before going to work as a research technician at UMASS Medical in Worcester. She worked at UMASS for a few years before returning full time to emergency medicine. She then worked in a local human society as a surgery technician prior to joining us. Crystal is also qualified to sit for her boards in anesthesia and emergency critical care and has training in natural disasters in the veterinary field. She is a member of NAVTA (National Veterinary Technician Association) and IVECCS (International Veterinary Emergency Critical Care Society). She lives with her husband, daughter, 2 cats, snakes and birds.

Roman Bobrek, Technician

Roman Bobrek, Technician
Roman is the newest member of our team. He brings with him over 16 years of experience of working with animals. He began his career working with Thoroughbred racehorses and traveled the east coast racing circuit. He also worked on stud and broodmare farms as well.

He then made a career path change to small animal medicine; starting in the kennel and working his way up to an emergency clinic technician. Roman has worked with both Crystal and Dr. Morris in the past. He brings to MVCS his knowledge of emergency and critical care along with passion and enthusiasm for animals.

In his spare time, he is tatoo artist and musician. He resides in Massachusetts with his family, including a pitbull mix(Loki),4 cats(Snowball, Poof, Squirrely, and Woody), and an aquatic turtle(Shelly.

Mira, Office Assistant
Mira, an 18 month old Border Terrier, has recently joined Dr. Morris' household. She is very sweet, but a bit shy, and spends her days at the reception desk.
